Celebrating the Amazing Women of Southern Winds Food Truck

I've been meaning to write about these incredible ladies since they opened Southern Winds. Life has been a whirlwind of juggling multiple projects, kids, work, the farm, and family. Some days, it feels like I'm just barely getting through the daily grind, wondering if my small failures will ever cease. But I know I'm not alone on this struggle bus, and in the end, I remind myself how blessed I am. Breathing deeply and focusing on gratitude helps me stay grounded.

Now, let me tell you about the remarkable women of Southern Winds. I am so proud of what they're doing. When I was little, dining at their original restaurant in Gamaliel was a real treat. They had the best homemade rolls, and their food was phenomenal. I was heartbroken when the restaurant burned down, and I've often thought about their incredible meals.

Fast forward to today, and they've started their own food truck! It’s three generations of amazing ladies, each as beautiful on the inside as they are outside. Their dedication and love for what they do shine through in every delicious meal they serve.

These women are special to me in so many ways. Brooke is especially dear, as she was one of my wonderful little Wildcat cheerleaders. Her sister, Isabella, impressed me immensely when I had the blessing of having her as an intern. Mrs. Felicia, our school nurse and one of my sister-in-law's best friends, is phenomenal in every way. And their precious mother, the lady who started it all, is a loving, giving, kind, and talented woman who shares her passion for cooking with her family and everyone who eats with them.

You’ll find them at various events, but my favorite is when they set up at their absolutely gorgeous home. Picture this: lanterns hanging in the trees, overlooking a serene pond, beautiful music playing, and tables and chairs set out for a delightful dining experience. It’s one of our absolute favorite places to go, eat, enjoy, and support.

If you’re ever in the area, make sure to check them out. Give them a try—you won’t regret it. My favorite is the poppy sandwich, and their chocolate cherry cake? Oh my heavens, it’s divine!

Supporting Southern Winds means supporting a legacy of love, dedication, and culinary excellence. I hope you get to experience it as we have.
